Sunday May 6 five fit birds from Abergavenny are riding the trail starting at Brecon at 8am. All in aid of St. Annes Hospice, they have been preparing for months for it and have raised a good sum of money between them. They are all novice riders and completing this will be a big achievement for them. A cheer on the way would be good if anyone is out there

wow what a ride, finished the Taff Trail from brecon to Cardiff Bay. we all stopped a few times but a good day out for all. The weather was perfect, brill cycling weather. I hope that we collected a good bit for the Bobath centre in cardiff. The Bobath centre is a place where children with cerebral palsy go for physio/speech sessions. I think the Taff Trail ride is on again next year, so dont delay JUST DO IT! we had people from 18 to 67.

Saturday 9.00 am, 31-03-07. With MTB (red/white GT Avalanche) started at Glyncorrwg ponds, then up through the Skyline MTB track, and onward and down to Aberdare and over mountain to Merthyr. Joined Taff Trail, then up and over the Beacons to Talybont, and lastly on to Brecon - 5.00 pm. Great long ride, got lost once - my fault (didn't cycle back though -had arranged a lift).

Is anyone aware of any events taking place on the Taff Trail on Sunday 29th April? I have organised a walk of the Trail from Tongwynlais to Cardiff. There will be many disabled and young children taking part so was slightly worried about any cycling events. Thanks

Cycled from Cardiff Bay to Pontypridd last Summer - took a wrong turning in Tongwynlais, and ended up going over the hill (past Castell Coch). How I missed the signs for the "low route" I'm unsure, but believe me, only the fittest should attempt the climb - it was a short burst of hell! The majority of the trail, however, is a fantastic ride. Pontypridd's part of the Trail could do with some work - but all in due course. www.ponty.net

All the barriers at the lower end ie Cardiff have been removed. This is to comply with the disability act I believe. Hope this helps

A friend and I rode from Brecon to Cardiff on Sunday and found that the sign post at Talybont Reservoir (Map ref:104205)had been tampered with and is pointing in the wrong direction! Beware!!!

Did Brecon to cardiff yesterday with my mate all in 1 day. We both agreed its probably the best ride we've had in ages, the beacons provided the entertainment and views while the valleys provided a chance to visit all the little villages and a chance to see the site of the tradjic event that took place at pen y fan. All in all in a great day and thank you very much to everyone who built and maintains the taff trail you've done a great job. On another note is there any unofficial sort of record for the taff trail, we didn't push it and are nowhere near bike fit compared to some people and took about 5 and a half hours. I'd love to know how quick some people do it??

Hi, done a circuit today that included a stretch of Taff Trail. From Pontypridd to Merthyr. I tried to keep to the trail signs but I got lost a few times and had to rely on gps to keep me near the river. Is the trail poorly marked or am I just a crap navigator? Anyway, what a beautiful ride :)

RE Helens comment 13 May. You will be glad to hear- As part of Tidy Wales week Keep Wales Tidy cleaned up Rhydfelin on the Taff trail with Visit Wales (ex WTB) and other assembly government staff on 27th June. Hopefully still looks OK ?

The amount of rubbish/old mattresses etc dumped on the taff trail at Glyntaff and Rhydyfelin is a disgrace. We walk this route most lunchtimes and in comparison with other parts of the trail its digusting. Would the council be responsible for clearing this site as it lets the rest of the trail down.

Further to the comments from Mr Alan Pugh Minister For Sport, I think we would all agree that motorcycle use on the Trail is an ongoing very dangerous issue,we here at Merthyr Council are taking the matter very seriously and would welcome any contact from users of the Trail with their views on this issue whether in the M.T.C.B.C area or not, please ring Merthyr Council on 01685/725000 ext. 7024 for further information.

Will be on the charity ride from MT to Cardiff this Sunday. Have ridden this trail on several occassions (have nearly hit by motor bikes myself/will be taking close look at signage etc) and would be happy to discuss any TT issues en route.
