Cardiff - City Centre

From Cardiff Bay to Cardiff

National Cycleway Route No 8 follows Lloyd George Avenue directly into the City Centre. Apart from the frequent halts for each side junction, this route is a well constructed cycleway across Callaghan Square to St Mary's Street.

If you are following the Taff Trail, towards Sophia Gardens, it then becomes very dangerous for cyclists as it runs along Wood Street - the busy bus terminus.

Cardiff - City Centre

The Taff Trail runs along the West side of the River Taff, keeping a safe distance, as it passes Cardiff City Centre. Looking towards Cardiff across the river, there is a clear view of Cardiff Castle to the left and the Millennium Stadium to the right.

Rail - Cardiff Central Station

The main Cardiff Railway Station is situated close to the Millennium Stadium. It is 200m from the Taff Trail and 700m from Sophia Gardens.

The Pedal Power Project, a charity providing cycling to the disabled, are now running a cycle hire service from Cardiff Caravan Park. They have recently extended their fleet of bikes and now have a range of sizes available to suit gents, ladies and kids. For bookings or any other info on Pedal Power Project and the cycle hire service, contact Chris Esprit on 07896374679. (updated Jan 2007)
